Adam Weaver - Professional Portrait Artist

About the Artist

My portraits are not about what I see, but what I want others to see. What this means to me is that I want people to look at the portrait I painted for them and see the life within it. See the memories contained within it. See the emotions involved between the subject and viewer. I aim for an exact likeness down to the finest details possible, while keeping in mind the relationship and reason why the portrait is being painted to begin with.

Nothing captures the essence of an individual as eloquently as a portrait. A custom oil portrait is the most personal, enduring gift one can give or receive. For over twelve years, I have been specializing in portraiture— the most satisfying genre for me. When I present a portrait, the resulting emotions are wonderful: surprise, wonder, wistfulness and pure joy. Many people find themselves in tears when they receive a permanent reminder of those they love, or of themselves. Nothing could be more rewarding for me than portraying happiness through my portraits.

My name is Adam Weaver and I have been into art ever since I can remember picking up a crayon. Photo-realism has always been of high interest and the most fascinating to me, and the ability and coordination an artist needs to execute photo-realism is mind blowing. When I paint, my aim is to capture a likeness. More importantly, I aim to capture something highly volatile, like an emotion or romantic notion. Realism for me is understanding the complexities and fine details of the subject. I develop an understanding of the subject that's both universal and deeply personal. I like to capture the character of the subject, whether it be in the way the fur grows, or that sparkle that shows their soul in their eyes.

To celebrate all the big and little events in life, a portrait is the perfect, constant reminder. For a child’s birth, first steps, the furbabies, graduation, marriage, Mother's and Father's Day— nothing could be more delightful than marking those times with a custom portrait. And to memorialize the people and pets who are no longer with us, a painted portrait is a timeless reminder of the loving, supportive relationships we have known.

"I am absolutely amazed at the talent Adam has. He painted a portrait of my grandson and it was as if I could reach out and touch him. The detail is astounding. I can barely hold my excitement till I give this portrait to my daughter for her birthday. Adam, you have given us a gift we shall cherish forever. Thank you so much." -Candy Young

"Adam is AMAZING! I found him by accident through the GSP Group page. I saw his time lapse video of "Madigan" and I was blown away. I've wanted to get portraits of my dogs done for years, but could never find "the" artist. Well I found him now! Adam just did portraits of my "boys" and when I saw the first proof, I cried. I was so overwhelmed with emotion. When I say it looks just like my Ace, I mean it looks JUST like my Ace. Adam somehow even captured Ace's personality in the drawing just by seeing a picture. In my wildest dreams, I could never have imagined how PERFECT it was going to be. Then when I saw the 2nd portrait of both of my boys, I cried again because it is PERFECT, too! Both Remington's and Ace's personalities come through in this portrait. I don't know how he does it, but he is exceptionally talented. Incredibly gifted. Anyone who knows me can attest to the fact that I am very OCD with a lot of things and my boys are my babies. For me to be this overwhelmed with joy and appreciation, that's saying that Adam really is the BEST! And, even better, he is such a super nice guy. He helps you choose the best pictures for your portraits and his excitement when you tell him how in love you are with your portraits is genuine. You absolutely cannot find better than Adam Weaver. I feel so incredibly lucky that I found him and I'm already thinking about my next portrait! THANK YOU Adam!!!" -Michele Spirk Dymkoski
